Israeli airstrikes in the southern Gaza Strip city of Rafah have resulted in the deaths of at least five individuals. These airstrikes are part of a series of attacks on Hamas strongholds that have escalated as Israel prepares for a more extensive offensive in the area. Rafah has become a refuge for over half of Gaza's population of 2.3 million people amidst ongoing conflict and is viewed as the likely hiding spot for Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar as well as many of the hostages.
