According to a recent poll conducted by the Israeli daily newspaper "Maariv," 48% of the residents of the State of Israel support the launch of an extensive military operation in Judea and Samaria to stem the ongoing wave of Palestinian terrorism. The poll was conducted in conjunction with the Director of the Panels Politics Institute, Dr. Menachem Lazar.

The Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar, linked to Hezbollah, reported Thursday morning that Israel sent a "diplomatic warning" through the United Nations that it would use military force to evacuate two campsites established by Hezbollah inside Israeli territory in the Mount Dov area. This is against the background of the Israeli reports that Hezbollah recently erected two tents on the spot with armed men inside.

The Israeli government is pushing a particularly dramatic development with regard to construction in the settlement communities of Judea and Samaria, which was reinforced even more yesterday following the attack in Eli. The government recently announced approval for 4,500 housing units in the Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria, this is an impressive increase in the volume of construction and almost double the one recorded in 2020 under President Trump which was considered the largest up to this point.

The “escalation” as it is being called in Israeli media, by the Israel Defense Forces on Wednesday night after the usage of a drone to strike a terrorist squad that had shot up the Jalma crossing, is not expected to spread to the rest of Judea and Samaria. However, the use of armed drones is expected to still be employed in the Nablus and Jenin areas which are hotbeds of militant activity that the Palestinian Authority cannot control.

Two teenage Palestinians died overnight Tuesday after an explosive device they had prepared accidentally blew up in the Balata refugee camp in Nablus. Another Palestinian was seriously injured in the incident. The young men who were killed are Alaa Mehdi Alfalah and Jamal Hussein Hashash.
