In the shadow of protests across Israel, the fear that harm to the integrity of the upcoming Israeli Memorial Day for fallen soldiers next month is increasing. In fact, some who support the protests against the government are actively calling on politicians to not attend the ceremonies and memorials, and make a big noise about doing so to drum up publicity for the controversial event. The office of MK Limor Son Har-Melech from Otzma Yehudit revealed last Tuesday that the far-left organization "Combatants for Peace" is already working to deepen the rift in the nation in the midst of Memorial Day.

A new survey from the Institute for the Policy of the Jewish People shows a larger consensus about the nature of the state among the ethnic & religious tapestry of Israeli citizens than anyone had expected to see. Professor Yedidia Stern, the president of the institute, says that "The 2023 pluralism index of the Jewish People's Policy Institute reveals that our extreme image of one another is not true. The facts are that a large majority (of Israelis) wants Israel to be both a Jewish state with 66% overall support and a democratic state with 88% support. This is encouraging news for the 75th anniversary of our independence."

After the three shooting attacks that took place last month in Huwara, the head of the Samaria Regional Council, Yossi Dagan, moved his office to the center of the village of Huwara Sunday morning. According to him: "If there is no security for my residents, I will sit here. The fabric of the enemy's life will not come before the lives of the citizens."

Two Israel Defense Forces soldiers were seriously and moderately injured Saturday evening in a shooting attack in Huwara. According to the IDF, a passing vehicle containing terrorists opened fire on the soldiers, who were standing at a military post by an intersection, and fled the scene. The Israeli security forces have been reinforced in the sector, and searches are being carried out for the suspects. The IDF is preparing for the possibility of revenge attacks by extremists.
