The ceremonial lighting of the third candle of Hanukkah took place Tuesday at the Western Wall plaza, with the participation of thousands of people. Twenty-three Palestinian farmers illegally planted crops last week on 200 dunams of Area C in parts of Samaria. The agricultural crops were sown adjacent to the fence near the Israeli community of Harish, thus ensuring a permanent Palestinian presence near the fence, which would allow the passage of illegal residents into Israeli territory, almost unimpeded.

During a Friday arrest of a 50-year-old suspected of possession and trade in protected birds, Soldiers of Israel's Border Police unit found far more important valuables.
