After many incidents of 'invasions' by Arab farmers from the villages within Israeli-controlled Area C Kana Nature Reserve where any activity by Israelis or Palestinians is forbidden, the Civil Administration For Judea and Samaria destroyed a number of Arab plots that had been planted in the reserve. However, late Thursday it became clear that the invading farmers do not intend to give up after the evacuation, and announced that they would return and invade the territory once more and that the Palestinian-Authority's Ministry of Agriculture and other organizations would stand behind the project.

Israeli military and government agencies have been practicing for a scenario of severe marine pollution in Eilat. The ecosystem in Israel’s most southern city, especially the coral reef on its shores,  is one of the most sensitive and important in the world. In the case of marine pollution, there is a potential for great damage to it due to the active seaport in Jordan which is the country's sole connection to the world's oceans, as well as Israel's southern port and therefore the Israel Defense Forces sees the importance of being prepared for such a disaster.

Following the earthquake in Turkey and Syria, Many Israelis also expressed concern about the possibility of severe earthquakes reaching the Jewish state. After all, Israel is part of the Levant just like Syria and Southern Turkey and a major fault line does run through the country. Shuki Ohana, mayor of Safed, talked about his concerns on an Israel radio program and shared what he thinks needs to be done.

Sunday night, the Israel Defense Forces confronted a Hamas cell responsible for several shooting attacks in the Jericho area, when the battle was over the Hamas unit of seven was eliminated. During the operation, a force from a mixed male and female combat battalion identified a number of armed men and an exchange of fire ensued. The IDF force managed to neutralize the terrorists and remove the threat. Some of the terrorists who were shot and killed were involved in the attack at the Almog intersection just last week.
